Fish Cake Recipe (Yield 6 Servings)

Dough Ingredients:

  • 200 Gr Spanish Mackerel Fillet
  • 100 Gr Chicken Thigh Fillet
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • ¼ Pcs Onion
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • 2 Tsp Sugar
  • ¼ Tsp Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Mushroom Stock Powder / Msg (Optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Snakehead Powder
  • ½ Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 50 Gr Sago Flour
  • 150 Gr Ice Cube
  • 1 Tsp Sesame Oil

Soup Ingredients:

  • 1.2 Liter Water
  • 3 Clove Garlic
  • 1 Pcs Carrot
  • ½ Pcs Onion
  • 12 Pcs Dried Anchovy
  • ½ Tsp Seaweed Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • ½ Tbsp Mushroom Stock Powder / Msg


1. In a food processor, add chicken, fish, salt, sugar, pepper, snakehead powder, mushroom powder, and ice cubes. Blend until sticky.

2. Add grated onion and garlic, baking powder, sago flour, and sesame oil. Blend until mixed well.

3. Prepare a heat-proof pan and line it with baking paper. Add the dough and spread evenly.

4. Weigh the top down, then steam for 30-35 minutes on low heat.

5. Remove the gut from the dried anchovy. Halve the garlic, slice the onion and carrot into large pieces.

6. Prepare a pan. Add the onion, garlic, and dried anchovy. Toast without oil until fragrant, then add water, soy sauce, and sugar.

7. Add the sliced carrot into the pan. Add seaweed powder, then cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
